This first drawing was an in-class exercise we did last Wednesday. We were to draw a charette of Faculty Glade (looking south), simulating a glance at the scene, where detail falls away in the periphery. Buildings are conveniently omitted. I got a minor sunburn drawing this. Guess where my inkwell was!
This second one is on a piece of brown butcher paper about 3 feet by 6 feet in size. It's probably the biggest drawing I've ever done, aside from chalk drawings and the full-body outlines I did in elementary school. The exercise was to do a monochrome drawing of a tree, and I chose the lovely convoluted buckeye tree on the north side of Faculty Glade.
