surveys and news
Oh, I've also finished version 0.1 of a simple online survey creation tool, after finding no viable alternative out there now. It's not complicated, but I'm pretty proud of it anyway. It'll be going up on my scripts page soon.

In the news, San Francisco may be going wireless (but faces possible legal action from private providers), HP is developing a camera jammer, there's a possible antidote to paralysis, and many people's English skills are deplorable. (The latter isn't really news, but given the growing use of textual correspondence, it's becoming more of a problem.)

EDIT: I'm trying to think of a good name for my survey tool. David suggested "Mercator," but I think that's already taken by quite a few different products. Any ideas?

The polyethylene glycol treatment is very exciting. I'm never ceased to be amazed how simple molecules can have such profound and prima facie mysterious effects on the treatment of injury and disease. Perhaps I'll ask my biochemistry professor tomorrow for more information about PEG can repair cellular damage (and so quickly).

...and thank you for the supportive comments you left for me. If it weren't for people like you on the ballroom (this includes you), I would have very little to keep me there.

I think it preempts the damage by preventing lysis rather than actually repairing ruptured cells, but I haven't been much of a bio geek since high school, so I'm not really sure. :~) I'd like to know why the cells are rupturing in the first place, so if you find out anything, let me know.

For the comments - no problem! Sometimes we all have to remind ourselves (or ask others) why it is we're doing all this.
